Most footings now in place, cutouts in side wall mostly complete. End walls to be rebuilt.

Bat lady inspects, no bats after all the surveys,  bat box goes up in woodland, how much have all the surveys cost? Roof comes off concrete floor starts to come out tomorrow. At last we have our own water and electric supply.

So this is where our clobber will go from the barn along with the workshop space I’ve rented in Bold.

Well eventually we have an electricity meter,  20weeks after we applied for the supply.

Scottish power came 2/52 ago and dug the road up. So I think now we have a supply up to our field boundary, supposedly coming over w/e to connect the barn up and on Monday the meter goes in. United utilities are less than useless, they were supposed to come last Monday but they failed to get a valid licence from the council to dig the road up (I suspect because Scot. Power was there) so we now have to wait till June.

Well true to form United Utilities now say having had my application for 5/52 that they need to upgrade the main running down the first 20m of the lane (having earlier said there was no water supply to any of the three properties up the lane – to whom have we all been paying water rates previously I ask myself). Once that’s done (on 23rd April) then they’ll book the connection to the water main and our meter.
